6 Channel Protein Maker
Accelerate your research on protein function with parallel purification.
Overview
6 Channel PM
The Protein Maker 6 workstation makes higher throughput purification simple and efficient at an affordable price. Purify 6 samples in parallel through 6 separate columns. Protein Maker 6’s simple, yet flexible, design enables custom approaches to parallel purification on a preparative scale.
How the 6 Channel PM Improves Workflow
Analyze functions of different isotypes, clones, antibodies
Determine the best protein or method for scale up
Evaluate gene expression levels
Produce dozens to hundreds of purified samples in a week
Screen constructs for protein structure studies
Track all samples with independent UV traces

Powerful, Flexible, Fast
Protein Maker 6’s flexible design lets you perform wide-ranging proteomics projects, or focus on a single gene product. It’s easy to customize your sample type and purification method for high throughput production of pure protein for anything from antibody production to x-ray crystallography.
Parallel Protein Chromatography
Load small (sub-mL) or large (L+) volumes of each sample (up to 6 at a time)
Configure and customize purification method with simple but flexible software
Fully automated purification: set up and walk away, even run overnight!
Run 6 chromatography columns (0.1–20 mL or larger) in parallel
Capable of running multi-column purification methods
Track real-time results with our 6-channel UV monitor at 254 nm, 275 nm, or both
Applications
Antibody purification from starting volumes from a few mL to more than 1L (i.e. Protein A affinity chromatography)
Biomarker discovery and sample preparation for mass spectrometry using immuno-depletion resins
Parallel expression and purification testing of (surface) mutagenized protein constructs (i.e. Ni-chelate-chromatography)
Risk-free scale up to hundreds of mg of protein
Multi-construct approach for protein crystallization
Gene therapy research and development
mRNA purification (or most any column-based purification)
Many other options: highly flexible system that can suit the needs of your specific process
6 Channel Protein Maker FAQ
Common questions from scientist interested in purhcasing the 6 Channel Protein Maker.
What is the difference between the PM 24 and the PM6?
The PM6 comes equipped with 6 individual pumps that allow for up to 6 columns to run at a time. The PM24 can run up to 24 columns at a time.
What can the PM6 be used for besides protein purification?
The PM6 can be used for any column-based purification, allowing biomolecules of many types can be processed with the platform (protein, nucleic acid, etc).
What is the PM6 software like?
The software is designed with a tab navigation structure and is highly customizable, making it possible to meet many scientific needs. Customers find the software very simple to navigate and learn. Want to find out for yourself? Schedule a free demo today!
Does the PM6 have UV detection?
Yes, the PM6 has the option for single or dual wavelength UV monitoring at 260 nm and 280 nm.
What types of columns are compatible with the Protein Maker?
Most any column that operates at pressures of 6 bar or less.
How fast can the PM6 complete a method?
The run time depends primarily on the number of method steps and the volume of sample to be loaded. Method time on the PM6 is substantially similar to that of any other column based purification system. However, the parallel processing capability of the PM6 makes it much more efficient on a per sample basis.
What flow rates can the PM6 run at?
The rates can vary from very slow (.25ml/min) all the way up to 20ml/min. Flow rates should be determined based on the specific column type being used on the system.
